I didn't care about her losing her child murdering father. Well Joel, it’s gonna take a lot more for her to get that point.īecause I would've killed Abby and them not letting me do that was annoying. Joel soon after tells her she needs to stop letting people rile her up, and she said “it’s hard when they’re dicks,” and he says, “point still stands.” She’s not satisfied by her revenge, nor his response to it, nor how it made her feel. ![]() He’s refreshed and that’s the way they need to go. She is even unable to appreciate a nice moment to share with Joel when seeing a deer, because she’s too focused on revenge. She’s pissed, immediately vindictive, and focuses on just that for the moment. ![]() Joel tricks her, and pushes her in the water. When Joel is taking Ellie to her birthday surprise, we see how bad Ellie is at handling trauma, revenge, and acceptance, and how little effort is put in to making sure she can handle those well. ![]() I know I’m late to this discussion, but the game even kind of addresses the idea of hearing “revenge is bad” since the third grade and thinking it’s not worth discussing.Įvery little story is a microcosm of the big story.
